About

An English and journalism teacher by day, I escape into food at night.  I am a self-taught cook who obsessively reads, thinks and watches TV and movies about food. I dream about switching careers and becoming a food writer, but for now this blog will be my outlet.

I live in a suburb just outside Washington D.C. with my soon-to-be husband, Thomas.  I am excited to share with you all of the yummy things I create and discover in this great city.

    Hi there,

I wanted to say thanks for following my blog. I note from your “about” that we have plenty in common. We’re a long way away in New Zealand, but my husband grew up around DC, so reading you blog reminds him quite a lot of home. Love the O’Kelly Salsa story. I could just image you stalking around the dumpster for ingredient clues. Kind of thing I’d do if I thought I could get away with it.

Looking forward to many more posts to come.

      Helena,
Thanks for the message! It’s interesting that you have a connection to DC; I have no connection to New Zealand but it is a place I would love to visit.
